THE "OTAGO EXPERIENCE" RECRUITMENT EVENT
ORGANISER: DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL
OBJECTIVE:
To attract people to attend “The Otago Experience”; a three day series of presentations in Glasgow to promote awareness and encourage skilled workers to move to Otago from overseas.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Prospective candidates with key skills that are in short supply in New Zealand including Health, Engineering and Business professionals.
CORE MEDIA:
The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times carried a series of advertisements 17 th October – 26 th October. S1 listing carried for four weeks.
RESULT:
550 potential immigrants attended the “Otago Experience”, beating attendance in Manchester by 150.

This was the first time that the “Otago Experience” had targeted Scotland…. “ Glasgow was chosen for its wealth of trades and engineering professionals in the area and for its links with New Zealand……we were absolutely thrilled with the results”
